Medicare Plans Coverage Tailored to Your Needs

Navigating Medicare plans in Connecticut can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to help. Understanding the different parts of Medicare plans ensures you get the right coverage for your healthcare needs. Below are the four key Medicare plan services we offer, each designed to protect your health and financial well-being.

Medicare Part A: Hospital Insurance

Part A of Medicare, also known as Hospital Insurance, is one of the components of the federal health insurance program. It primarily covers services related to inpatient hospital stays and other related care. Enrollment in Part A typically occurs automatically for those who meet certain eligibility requirements, while others may need to sign up manually. This coverage is generally funded through payroll taxes paid by workers and employers over time.

Medicare Part B: Medical Insurance

Part B of Medicare, also known as Medical Insurance, is a component of the federal health insurance program that covers medically necessary services and preventive care. Enrollment in Part B may be automatic for some individuals, while others need to sign up during specific enrollment periods. This coverage requires a monthly premium, which can vary based on income. It is funded through a combination of beneficiary premiums and general federal revenue.

Medicare Advantage Plus (HMO or PPO)

Medicare Advantage (Part C) is an all-in-one plan offered by private insurance companies, providing more comprehensive benefits than Original Medicare. These plans often include:

Medicare Advantage plans come in different types, including HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) plans, which require in-network providers, and PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) plans, which offer more flexibility.

Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage (Part D)

Medicare Advantage, also known as Part C, is an alternative way to receive Medicare coverage through private insurance companies approved by Medicare. These plans follow Medicare rules and often include networks of healthcare providers, operating as either Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) or Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs). Enrollment in a Medicare Advantage plan is optional and available to those who are eligible for Medicare Parts A and B. Plan availability, costs, and coverage details may vary based on location and provider.
